The meaning of Pin drop silence

Image
Can you hear a pin drop? What is the meaning of pin drop silence? Following are some instances when silence could speak louder than voice. Take 1: Field Marshal Sam Bahadur Maneckshaw once started addressing a public meeting at Ahmedabad in English. The crowd started chanting, "Speak in Gujarati. We will hear you only if you speak in Gujarati." Field Marshal Sam Bahadur Maneckshaw stopped. Swept the audience with a hard stare and replied, "Friends, I have fought many a battle in my long career. I have learned Punjabi from men of the Sikh Regiment; Marathi from the Maratha Regiment; Tamil from the men of the Madras Sappers; Bengali from the men of the Bengal Sappers, Hindi from the Bihar Regiment; and Even Nepali from the Gurkha Regiment. Unfortunately, there was no soldier from Gujarat from whom I could have learned Gujarati."... You could have heard a pin drop Take 2: Robert Whiting, an elderly US gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris b...

Mother's Day

I do not know who wrote this but he has done a very good job doing so . He was pruning the plants..sitting in the posh arbor of ****international school, heat and dust didn't seem to affect him. "Ganga Das, principal ma'am wants to see you right now" The last two words of peon had lots of emphasis on them, trying to make it sound like an urgency. He quickly got up, washed and wiped his hands and headed towards principal's room. The walk from the garden to the office seemed never ending, his heart was almost jumping out of his chest..he was trying all the permutation n combination, figuring out as to what has gone wrong that she wants to see him urgently...he was a sincere worker and never shirked away from his duties... knock knock..." Madam, you called me?" "Come inside..." an authoritative voice laced with crispness made him further nervous, Salt n pepper hair, tied neatly in a french knot, a designer sari-sober and very classic, g...

A Trip to Mumbai (Day Two, Part 1)

Image
29th July 2016 The Journey  5:20 am, Madagaon - The train halted at Madagaon for a few minutes in the early hours of the morning. I stepped out of the train and stretched myself. I very badly needed some black coffee but no coffee was available in black. Why don't Indian Railways provide black coffee?. Got back on the train and sat near the window, waiting for the Sun to come up so that I could enjoy the beauty of Maharashtra. I had completely missed Karnataka while I was asleep. 5:55 am - The train again stopped at Verna for about half an hour. The train moved. The Sun is slowly coming up. The landscape changed. Vast areas of flat land with lots of greenery. Small hills are also visible here and there. The roads here are flawless and beautiful. Streams are full of waters and have plenty of boats in them. The vegetation here mainly consists of bushes. I wanted to know which place it was and saw a board with ' Karmali' written on it. I have to check this place...

China's Shocking Military Secret REVEALED

Image
This is really shocking! China is doing mass organ harvesting from innocent people. Millions of people are killed to harvest organs in China. I do not think that the international community can any longer remain silent about this. We should act and we should act fast. Expose China to the world.

Mysteries

Image
Life and everything in it is a mystery. Mysteries that unravel before you every now and then. Of all the mysteries I have dealt with, I still can't figure out why some people come into our lives and become a part of you while some people go. Some friendships feel like they will last forever. And some others end far too soon. Not every friendship is meant to last a lifetime. What does last forever is the pain when that person is gone. {Josbin Itty's Journal, 8/21/2015}. © 2015 Josbin Itty
