Poem; Caged Bird Set Free by Josbin Itty
I've been a caged bird,
half a decade now.
A helpless bird
who forgot how to fly or prey...
I was happy in my cage of love,
I was safe and sound...
Her love for me was smooth and sweet,
Like the cool evening breeze...
And then came a stormy day
When I lost my cage, my cage of love...
I was beaten, broken and scared
In the storm...
Having thrown out in the rain,
Cold, wet and shivering I sat...
Every time I tried to fly,
My wings failed.
I did fight, fight and fight
But hope was out of sight
But to give up is so easy,
To fight and win is hard.
I'm a free bird again,
you can't cage me again.
I'll fly, fly and fly,
higher than you could ever imagine
I'll prey with the eagles,
you'll never have me again.
